Investment analytics dashboard replacement for a major Japanese bank
Replaced a 10-year-old investment analytics dashboard with a modern Next.js + NestJS stack. Cut the monthly batch run from 4 hours to 18 minutes.
Anonymized at the client’s request.
Challenge
- A decade-old investment analytics dashboard had grown slow as new products were added — both in UI response time and monthly batch processing.
- The internal team had stalled on the replacement and needed an external partner that could take ownership while preserving quality and migrating in phases.
- The team also wanted a SaaS-grade UI refresh while continuing to satisfy J-SOX audit requirements.
Approach
- Stood up a lab-style team: 1 Bridge SE, 2 frontend, 3 backend, 1 QA.
- Co-designed a phased migration plan with the customer’s IT team.
- Two-week sprints covering design, build, QA, and release.
- Audit logging, RBAC, and data encryption built in from day one — running an internal audit in parallel with each phase.
Results
- Monthly batch run cut from 4 hours to 18 minutes (~13× faster).
- First-paint on key screens improved from 3.2 s to 0.8 s.
- Zero findings in the external audit at release.
- Knowledge transfer to the internal team completed within 6 months; long-tail maintenance now runs with a minimal headcount.
Client voice
「The Bridge SE picked up subtle requirements in Japanese, so it never felt like a remote engagement. The batch performance gain went well beyond what we had budgeted for.」
